Timnath was settled in 1869 and incorporated in 1920, and for most of its history it stayed exactly what it was built to be an agricultural community growing potatoes, sugar beets, and alfalfa along the Cache la Poudre River. That history is still visible in Old Town Timnath, where a handful of historic buildings, a converted 1920s grain elevator (now the Colorado Feed & Grain Public Market), and Timnath Beerwerks anchor a genuinely small, walkable downtown.

But step outside Old Town and the story shifts. Timnath has been named one of the fastest-growing towns in Colorado for over a decade, with population estimates jumping from around 6,500 in 2020 to nearly 11,000 today, and long-range plans for continued growth. The Iconic Event: Timnath Fall Festival

If there's one event that captures Timnath's community spirit, it's the Timnath Fall Festival, held every September at Timnath Community Park. The 2026 festival is set for September 26, and it's a genuinely free, family-friendly gathering — live music, an artisan market, food trucks, pumpkin decorating, a corn maze, and a beer and cider garden featuring local breweries like New Belgium and Prost. It also doubles as a fundraiser for the Children's Speech & Reading Center, which says a lot about the town's priorities.

• Harmony Golf Club — A community built around Northern Colorado's premier golf course, offering a more upscale, view-oriented setting.
